A Heartwarming Journey

When I arrived, the evening air was warm as he served us delicious food with so much love and care, repeatedly asking us to take more. It felt so special and loved. After freshening up, I visited Krishnapuram with Chaitanya Ji, where I was welcomed with immense energy and excitement. The kids and Amma greeted me as if I had returned home. Their warm hugs and joy made me feel so cherished. That evening, I met new people and learned about my volunteering role for the walk. To my delight, I was entrusted with photography to capture the moments. Sharing laughter and conversations over dinner, the day wound down beautifully.

Day 1: The Walk Begins

The day started with soul sync meditation with my friend, followed by a delicious breakfast. Being from eastern India, I found the unique flavors and the love poured into the food truly delightful. We played a fun ice-breaker game led by Neetha Ji, which helped us bond with one another. Then, an exciting adventure awaited us—a ride on a tractor! Riding on the back, with my legs dangling and shouting like a carefree child, brought out a wave of joy and nostalgia.

When we arrived at Santoshpuram, the kids greeted me with shouts of “Poonam Ji,” hugging me and holding my hand. Their boundless affection overwhelmed me—it was a love that expected nothing in return. I clicked photos with Chinnu and Kittu, prayed at the temple, and danced garba at the knowledge center with the children. I met Maria Ji and his wife, who welcomed me with big smiles and warmth, calling me their daughter. Despite language barriers, Maria Ji made sure to connect through Karthik Ji’s translation, making me feel so loved.

Later, we enjoyed hot herbal tea with a serene view and planted seeds with the uncle and auntie who stayed there. The evening led us to Emugula Gutta, where the breathtaking views and the cool mountain breeze invited us to shout and feel utterly free. Returning to Krishnapuram, we pampered ourselves with Multani mitti face packs and a tranquil walk to the lake. Surrounded by greenery and gentle rain, we sipped tea by the lake’s edge, soaking in the beauty of nature. The day ended with dinner at Ali and two hours of reliving the day’s moments through photos, smiling and cherishing every memory.

Day 2: Reflection and Giving Back

We woke up ready for a trek, but the rain changed our plans. Instead, we enjoyed Maggi and coffee, a treat from our volunteers. Later, we visited Anilpuram, where the living conditions moved me deeply—muddy paths, makeshift shelters, and people walking barefoot in the rain. It made me reflect on my own life and the importance of gratitude. LF’s efforts to help these people relocate to a better place filled me with hope.

During discussions about Anilpuram, Captain Vinayak suggested we bring small gifts from our pocket money for the villagers during visits—a small gesture that could make a big difference. Lunch that day was wonderfully packed in sustainable and pretty packaging. We ended the day with a soul-soothing walk in the rain with Acharya Ji, enjoying nature’s tranquility. A small crab, my first sighting, added to the day’s wonders. We later watched the animated movie Soul, my first English cartoon that kept me awake and happy—a rare occurrence for me!

Day 3: Nature’s Embrace

The day began at Manavanam with soul sync meditation, and I felt tiny raindrops on my face. After breakfast, we boarded the tractor again, heading to a waterfall. The view, cold water, and breeze created a magical experience. I immersed myself fully - drinking the water, dipping my face, and even eating a small rock, fulfilling a quirky bucket-list wish!

I wanted to stay forever but had to return. After a refreshing bath, we visited Machal Amma Temple, enjoying the muddy paths and playful jumps along the way. At the temple, I felt a deep sense of peace and gratitude. Acharya Ji’s advice during the meeting stayed with me: “If you want something, ask for it.”

The day ended with heartfelt goodbyes from the friends and family I had made. Their warmth and love left me overwhelmed yet grateful. Though I arrived empty-handed, I left with a treasure chest of memories, love, and unforgettable experiences.

This journey was a reminder of life’s beauty, the joy of giving and receiving love, and the happiness that comes from connecting with people and nature. It is a chapter I will cherish forever. 🫂🥳🧿
