The Paddle

What awaits you during The Paddle?

• Canoe through a protected wetland on the Rideau River
• Learn about the beautiful nature that surrounds us, along with some of the area’s special features
• Discover how each of these natural features benefit us in our daily lives, as we explore our interconnection with the local rivers and the natural world
• Give back to the river with a collective shoreline clean-up effort which will take place throughout the tour as we find spots on the river with plastic pollution
• Engage in water testing to help scientific research on water quality & learn how we can help
• Participate in discussions with valuable insights into Lokaa Foundation’s approach to sustainability and nature connection
• Experience moments of tranquility with brief meditations guiding us deeper into connection with nature
• Learn about the canoes we are using and the Rideau Canal system we are travelling through

Registration

• $50/person plus eventbrite fees
• Reservation on a first-come first-served basis due to limited capacity

Who can attend?

• Ages 13-35 (Exceptions can be made on request)
• Those willing to paddle in a big canoe for around 4-5 hours

Food

• Bring your own lunch
• At the end of the day at around 6:30 pm we will walk somewhere to have dinner together, restaurant is TBD, anyone who wants to join is welcome, buying your own dinner
